Stretch Break™  is a  “Computer-Based Stress & Fatigue Reduction Software Program” for employees.  For Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) managers, it is an effective office health and safety program that can help minimise OH&S claims.

A team of health care professionals developed Stretch Break™ to help guard against Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI) and Occupational Overuse Syndrome (OOS), increase circulation, relieve tension and boost your energy level.

Soreness and stiffness from continual computer use can be pre-cursors to RSI, OOS and MSD (Musculoskeletal Disorders).  The cost to your business is $1000’s of dollars in lost time, temporary staff, and workers compensation claims per employee.

Once installed on your computer, Stretch Break™ gently reminds you to take breaks at your computer. You are invited to participate in a series of low-impact stretches, many drawn from yoga, presented on-screen.  Stretch Break™ also provides guidelines for an ergonomically correct and friendly workstation, encouraging office health & safety as well as a series of hints on how to avoid injuries when using your computer.

Stretch Break™ reminds you to stretch and shows you how!

The study is being replicated at other sites where Stretch Break™ is being used. Data from the completed questionnaires has been tabulated. A summary of the results is available upon request.
