Meditation for Schools
A trial project to teach mindfulness to British high school students has shown promising results.
Tested during the stressful summer exam period, those students who participated in a mindfulness meditation program reported fewer depressive symptoms, lower stress and greater wellbeing than the young people in the control group.
Almost 80% of the young people also said they continued mindfulness practices after completing the course, suggesting long-term benefits from learning these skills.
