Michael Stone, Founder & Director
My career started in corporate finance at Arthur Andersen, Sydney, Australia. After a period of travel throughout the Americas, I ended up working as an equities trader on Wall St, New York City. At the time of the events of September 11, 2001, I was working one block away from the World Trade Centre. From that day on, I was catapulted into action to find and create a meaningful life.
Six months after 9/11, I quit my job as a trader, and focused exclusively on self-development, working in various roles at The New York Open Center – the largest centre for holistic learning in the USA. During this time, I participated in a wide variety of retreats, seminars, workshops and courses, including massage, yoga, stress management, life coaching, meditation, brain gym, intuitive development and other complementary medicine and natural therapy modalities. I realised that there was a tremendous need for these services in the workplace, and I made it my goal to bring positive change to as many Australian workplaces as possible.
Since returning home to Australia in 2003, I have facilitated various health conferences and workshops, and have enjoyed teaching business planning skills to wellness practitioners. All the while, my core passion is working with HSG and its facilitators to bring corporate wellness solutions to Australian workplaces, including Corporate, Government, Educational and Not-For-Profit sectors.
We do our utmost to practice what we preach. The HSG team is like a family – we laugh & cry together, and we believe in open, honest, and authentic communication. Our common passion and reason for turning up each day with an ‘anything is possible’ attitude, is to make a positive contribution to workplaces, and ultimately, the world we live in.
