Wellness coaching and business coaching for growing teams
Running a business or leading a team well takes more than technical skill — it takes clear priorities, steady decision-making, and the energy to sustain it over time.
HSG’s wellness and business coaching pairs practical leadership coaching with genuine attention to your own wellbeing, so you can lead with clarity without burning out in the process.

What wellness and business coaching involves
Wellness and business coaching is one-to-one coaching for business owners, founders and senior leaders that combines practical leadership and business-thinking skills with genuine support for the leader’s own wellbeing. Sessions are built around the individual’s goals rather than a fixed curriculum, drawing on HSG’s broader expertise across leadership development, stress management and workplace psychology.
Most engagements draw on two connected areas: leadership and business-thinking skills, and personal wellbeing skills, because sustainable leadership performance depends on the leader’s own health and energy as much as their business capability.
Why Leadership Capability Is Worth Investing In
Leaders shape the experience of everyone around them, and the pressure on senior people to perform, adapt and stay well through change has only increased.
- Manager engagement is falling: global manager engagement fell from 27% to 22% between 2024 and 2025, the steepest year-on-year decline on record, according to Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace 2026 Report.
- Managers drive engagement: managers account for around 70% of the variance in team engagement, according to Gallup’s How to Engage Frontline Managers analysis (2022, updated 2024).
Coaching gives leaders dedicated space to work through these pressures before they affect their team or their own wellbeing.
Who Coaching Is For
Wellness and business coaching is designed for business owners, founders and senior leaders who want clearer priorities and stronger leadership skills without sacrificing their own wellbeing. It also suits managers and executives navigating a period of change, growth or increased pressure.
What Coaching Involves
HSG’s coaches are based in Sydney and deliver sessions in person locally, with video conferencing and phone sessions available nationally and across New Zealand and Asia-Pacific. Coaching is one-to-one, with session length and frequency agreed with each client, and content tailored to the individual’s role, goals and current challenges.
Coaching can draw on leadership and business-thinking skills, such as goal setting and prioritisation, time management, public speaking and negotiation, and navigating uncertainty and change (see Emotional Intelligence for Leaders), as well as personal wellbeing skills such as stress and energy management, resilience, and clarifying personal values and priorities (see Stress & Burnout Prevention Workshops).
Delivered by HSG
HSG has delivered workplace wellbeing and coaching services since 2003. Coaching is delivered by specialist coaches with professional backgrounds in coaching, psychology or organisational development, based in Sydney with sessions available nationally and across New Zealand and Asia-Pacific by video conferencing or phone.
This coaching is not a substitute for financial, legal or medical advice, and it is not a clinical or therapeutic service. Where a client’s needs fall outside the scope of coaching, HSG’s coaches will say so and can help point toward the right kind of support.
Tell us about your role and what you’re navigating, and HSG will recommend a coaching format that fits.
Outcomes
HSG can report on direct measures such as attendance, engagement with the coaching process, and the leader’s own self-rated progress against their goals. Coaching can support broader outcomes over time, including greater confidence, clearer decision-making and stronger leadership capability, though these depend on individual circumstances and are not guaranteed.

Managers account for at least 70% of the variance in team engagement (Gallup, State of the American Manager, 2015), so investing in leadership capability has a direct flow-on effect on the wider team. Coaching gives leaders a confidential space to think through decisions, sharpen priorities and build the self-awareness that supports both performance and wellbeing.
