Men's Health Week programs for your workplace

Men are less likely to seek support. The workplace creates a practical, trusted pathway to reach them.

Held each June in Australia, Men’s Health Week raises awareness of men’s preventable health problems and encourages action. For employers, it’s a chance to deliver health information to male employees where they spend much of their time, reaching men who might not seek health education elsewhere through clear communication that resonates with them.

Men’s Health Week workplace programs are practical health-education sessions that help employees understand men’s physical and mental health, build healthier habits and feel more confident seeking support.

Holistic Services Group delivers Men’s Health Week programs across Australia and online for distributed teams. Sessions cover the physical and mental dimensions of men’s health, delivered by specialist facilitators who understand how to engage men authentically on topics that are often avoided.

The men’s health gap in Australian workplaces

Physical health

In 2023, the median age at death in Australia was 80 for males and 85 for females (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, Health of Men). Men are also less likely to visit a doctor or seek preventive care, and many workplace health programs are designed without specific reference to men’s health needs. Practical, direct health education at work is one way to reach men with trustworthy information they might not otherwise seek out.

Mental health

In 2024, 76.5% of people who died by suicide in Australia were male, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ 2024 Causes of Death release. The workplace is a practical environment for reaching men early, and Men’s Health Week is an opportunity to normalise these conversations using practical skills rather than a clinical framing.

Who these programs are for

Programs suit all-male and mixed-gender workforces, teams in male-dominated industries, and the managers, team leaders and HR professionals who want to better support the men in their teams. To lift participation, organisations can appoint peer champions within male teams or have respected colleagues and managers visibly endorse the programs.

Men's health workshop

Programs available for Men’s Health Week

All programs are available as 45 or 60-minute lunch-and-learn sessions, 90-minute workshops, or half-day formats, onsite or via live webinar.

Men’s health awareness workshop

A direct, evidence-informed workshop covering the key physical health issues affecting Australian men, including cardiovascular, prostate and testicular health, healthy weight, and the importance of regular health checks. Engaging and practical rather than clinical. Suitable for all-male and mixed-gender workforces.

Men’s mental health and resilience

Explores the mental health challenges men commonly face, including stress, burnout, depression, and the social factors that make it harder for men to seek help, and provides practical skills for managing them. Addresses the real experience of working men without clinical jargon, building capacity for both self-care and peer support.

Healthy habits for a longer life

A whole-of-health session covering the lifestyle factors with the greatest impact on men’s long-term health: nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and regular health checks. Practical and time-respectful, with clear steps participants can take immediately.

Fuelling your body for optimal performance: nutrition for men

Facilitated by a qualified clinical nutritionist, covering the nutritional principles that matter most for working men: what to eat for sustained energy, how to manage weight without extreme restriction, and the role of nutrition in physical and mental performance. Part of HSG’s Men’s & Women’s Health Workshops.

Supporting the men in your team

For managers, team leaders and HR professionals: how to create an environment where men feel safe to raise health and wellbeing concerns. Participants learn to recognise signs of distress men commonly mask, initiate a genuine check-in, and connect team members to support, drawing on the evidence base around psychological safety and peer support.

A suggested Men’s Health Week schedule

A framework covering the key dimensions of men’s health across five days. Adapt it to your size, format and time, or run individual sessions as standalone events.

Men’s Health Week and Movember: two different moments

Men’s Health Week in June and Movember in November serve different purposes in the workplace calendar and work best as complementary rather than interchangeable. Men’s Health Week is a focused health education week, the right moment for structured programs on physical health, nutrition, mental health skills, and lifestyle. Movember is a broader cultural movement that combines fundraising with awareness, well-suited to visible, participatory activities that sustain engagement throughout the month. Together, they give employers two strong men’s health touchpoints throughout the year, and HSG can design programming for both that builds on one another rather than repeating content.

What organisations are saying

Max delivered back to back two separate workshops for Adobe about Men’s Health and Women’s Health and we couldn’t be happier. We got the best attendance ever to any Health & Wellbeing workshop we’ve run so far, people were really engaged asking questions and the content was perfect and clearly in demand. Max was the perfect presenter and did a fantastic job engaging with the audience considering that the event was online. He timed the session to perfection accommodating every single question in the audience. I would recommend these workshops to any company that wants to arm their employees with health information specific to their genders and to bring down the stigma (specially around men) of talking about health problems.

Yes. While programs focus specifically on men’s health, they are effective in both all-male and mixed-gender settings. The manager-focused session, Supporting the Men in Your Team, is particularly suited to mixed groups, as it centres on how all colleagues can better support the men in their teams.

We recommend booking by late May to secure your preferred facilitator, format and schedule for mid-June. For a full-week program, contact HSG in May to allow adequate planning time. Men’s health and nutrition programs are also available year-round as standalone sessions or as part of an Annual Wellbeing Program.
