A complete team building and engagement package for your organisation
When your team genuinely enjoys being together, the work gets better. So does everything else.
Team connection doesn’t happen by accident. In distributed, hybrid and high-pressure workplaces, the moments that build real cohesion need to be created intentionally. Holistic Services Group has designed and delivered team-building and employee-engagement experiences for Australian organisations since 2003, working with more than 1,600 organisations across corporate, government, healthcare and education.
The Team Building & Engagement Package is HSG’s curated, multi-element team experience: a single day or session that combines several facilitator-led activities chosen to suit your team’s culture, format and goals. For HSG’s foundational culture and connection workshops, see Team Building & Culture Workshops. For a sustained lift in engagement over time, see Employee Engagement Programs.

What the package includes
A typical package combines elements from across four foundations of a cohesive team. HSG helps design the right combination for your brief.
Connection and communication: Team Building Through Meaningful Interaction (guided reflection using growth-mindset sharing and values-based discussion), Icebreakers, Energisers and Team Games (custom activities for quick thinking and bonding), and Vision Board and Goal Setting (aligning teams on shared goals).
Physical energy and fun: Laughter Wellness (laughter exercises and breathing techniques to ease stress and build cohesion), The Great Race Scavenger Hunt (fast-paced challenges, onsite only), and Survivor! (small-group tribe challenges that build teamwork under pressure).
Creativity and shared experience: Master Chef Mania (a cooking challenge blending culinary skill, time management and communication) and Workplace Healthy Cooking Demonstrations (an interactive session building skills and connection over a shared meal).
Wellbeing integration: Laughter Yoga (laughter blended with mindfulness and movement) and Sound Meditation (Sonic Relaxation) (a guided group sound experience designed to support relaxation and create a shared moment).

Why shared experience builds team connection
Connection is not a nice-to-have. When engagement slips, it shows up as weaker collaboration, lower morale and higher turnover, and shared activities away from the daily grind are one of the simplest ways to support the trust and communication a team depends on, especially for distributed, hybrid or high-pressure teams.
- Global engagement at its lowest since 2020: only 20% of employees worldwide were engaged at work in 2025, and Gallup estimates low engagement cost the global economy close to US$10 trillion in lost productivity, according to Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace 2026.
- Engaged teams perform measurably better: highly engaged business units show 23% higher profitability and, in organisations with annual turnover of 40% or less, 51% lower employee turnover than the least engaged units. Read Gallup’s 2024 analysis.
A single team-building day will not shift an organisation-wide engagement figure on its own, but it sits within the everyday pattern of connection-building that this broader research points to. HSG’s facilitators design each day to read the room, manage energy levels, and create genuine conditions for connection rather than forced fun.

Who this is for
- Whole teams and intact work groups planning a shared day away from the usual routine, from a team day to an end-of-year celebration
- Distributed and hybrid teams reconnecting in person, where shared time together matters more, not less
- Cross-functional teams and departments embedding experiential development into a broader leadership or capability program
- Conference and event attendees, for an opening, breakout session, or end-of-conference experience
- Whole teams and large organisational groups, from around 10 participants to several hundred
What organisations are saying
Sharon ran just a 30 minute laughter workshop for a group of cynics and we JUST LOVED IT. We had around 16-18 staff, aged from early twenties to late fifties and it was a fantastic workshop. Everyone really enjoyed it and we have continued to talk about afterwards and to share our hilarious experience with other teams. It is THE most cheering group activity I’ve ever participated in. Thank you Sharon!
This was the most amazing experience and our facilitator brought the perfect amount of voice to the session. The team’s highlight of our 3 day workshop was in fact this particular session!
Rhonda and Julie ran a very informative and fun cooking demo that we all thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you so much 🙂
Team Building in Practice
Opening an innovation workshop with a connection activity
Setting: An organisation opening a full-day innovation workshop, with team members who did not all know each other well.
What HSG delivered: A facilitator-led connection activity to open the day, designed to lift the energy and lower social barriers before the ideation work began.
Outcome: A positive start that got participants out of their comfort zone and primed the kind of open, different thinking the workshop needed.
“A great way to open up an innovation workshop day with a positive vibe, and getting out of the comfort zone to allow for different thinking to happen.”
