What makes HSG different
- A holistic approach that looks at the whole person, not just a single symptom or program
- One provider across mental health, leadership, physical wellbeing and culture, so clients manage a single relationship instead of several
- Programs built after we understand your organisation’s challenges and goals, not sold off the shelf
Our mission and how we work
Holistic Services Group (HSG) exists to help Australian organisations build workplaces where staff feel genuinely supported and can do their best work. We are a family-owned Australian company, and every program we design is built on a simple premise: workplace wellbeing works best when it is holistic, evidence-informed and tailored to the people actually doing the work.
The business case for that investment is well established. Australian organisations see an average return of $2.30 for every $1 invested in effective workplace mental health initiatives (PwC, 2014), and mental ill-health is estimated to cost the Australian economy $200–$220 billion per year (Productivity Commission, 2020). HSG’s role is to help organisations turn that evidence into practical, credible programs their people actually want to attend.
One partner across four connected areas
Rather than treating wellbeing as a single service, HSG designs programs across four connected areas so clients can build a coordinated strategy with one provider:
- Workplace Mental Health & Resilience — training and prevention programs that support psychosocial risk management
- Leadership Development — building manager capability to support team mental health and engagement
- Physical Wellbeing — massage, ergonomics, fitness, yoga, pilates and nutrition programs
- Workplace Culture — team building, connection and engagement programs

About our corporate philosophy – integrity and respect
HSG’s approach is simple: the success of any program depends on the expertise of the people delivering it. We source experienced practitioners from around Australia, and bring their skills and talents into your workplace.
Our network of facilitators, speakers, consultants and therapists are skilled professionals who understand both holistic health and the realities of the business world.
HSG is committed to treating both our clients and practitioners with integrity and respect. HSG’s team understands the importance of inter-personal relationships, and prides itself on the quality and expertise of its people and the community that has developed from their commitment and passion.
How we work with clients and practitioners
Our practitioners are insured and qualified in their respective fields, and all have experience working within a business environment. Each is engaged as a specialist independent contractor, not an HSG employee, giving clients access to discipline-specific expertise across every service HSG offers.
The workplace is changing, and people are searching for greater purpose, meaning and authenticity, both in their personal lives and their careers. Skills such as work-life balance, mindfulness, stress management and resilience, and meditation are increasingly part of how organisations support their people. Value-driven organisations create healthy environments that encourage personal fulfilment, and can be recognised as an employer of choice.

A Founder’s Story Grounded in Real Change
Michael Stone, Founder & CEO
Holistic Services Group was founded by Michael Stone after a personal turning point that changed the direction of his life and career.
Michael began his career in corporate finance before working as an equities trader in New York. After experiencing the events of September 11, 2001 from close range, he reassessed what meaningful work looked like and began studying holistic health, stress management, meditation, movement, coaching and personal development.
When he returned to Australia in 2003, Michael saw a clear opportunity: workplaces were under pressure, but most wellbeing support was either reactive, fragmented or disconnected from everyday working life.
HSG was created to bring practical, human-centred wellbeing into Australian workplaces — combining qualified facilitators, evidence-informed programs and a holistic view of health that supports both individuals and organisational culture. Today, Michael’s role is focused on guiding HSG’s direction, supporting its facilitator network, and helping organisations create wellbeing programs that are credible, practical and genuinely useful for their people.
Our Commitment to Responsible Business:
Holistic Services Group acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and work, and pays respect to Elders past and present.
For us, wellbeing is not just something we deliver to clients. It is something we try to practise in the way we work. Holistic Services Group operates with a lean, low-waste model, choosing local suppliers where possible, reducing unnecessary travel, reusing and recycling materials, and continuing to improve the way we manage our environmental footprint.
We also contribute to community, educational and environmental organisations through donations, services and practical support. We know there is always more to do, but our intention is simple: to run a business that supports healthier workplaces while making a positive contribution beyond them.
