Workplace sleep programs that help your team rest well and stay sharp

It is three in the afternoon and the room has gone quiet. Someone re-reads the same paragraph three times, someone else is on their fourth coffee, and a good number of them were awake at 2am. Almost none of them will mention it.

Sleep is the one wellbeing topic where nearly everyone in the room has a personal stake, and where a single session can send people home with something to try that night.

Workplace sleep programs are structured, evidence-informed sessions that help employees understand how sleep works, build steadier routines and recognise fatigue. Holistic Services Group delivers its Sleeping Soundly and Countering Fatigue workshop onsite or live online, with tailored multi-session options and individual Sleep Health Assessments.

When poor sleep follows people into work

Sleep is usually treated as a private matter, even when work is part of what is keeping people awake. For desk-based teams, a poor night shows up as lost concentration and slower decisions. For shift, on-call and safety-critical teams, it becomes a question of risk.

  • Work is often part of the problem: 36.9% of Australian workers said work-related factors affect their sleep on the nights they do not sleep well, according to the Sleep Health Foundation’s Aussie Sleep Snapshot Survey 2026.
  • And the effects carry into the day: 38.1% of Australians said poor sleep affects their productivity on three or more days per week, in the same 2026 Sleep Health Foundation survey.

These figures describe the national workforce. They are not a measurement of any individual workplace, and they do not identify which of your own work practices may be contributing.

A sleep program is employee education. It does not replace roster design, workload controls, adequate breaks, fatigue risk assessment or clinical care. It works alongside them.

Who workplace sleep programs are for

Sleeping Soundly and Countering Fatigue is built for whole teams and open-enrolment groups rather than clinical cohorts. It suits desk-based and hybrid staff whose routines have drifted, high-pressure teams carrying sustained workload, shift and on-call workers managing irregular rosters, and parents and carers of young children.

No prior knowledge is needed, and the content works for a mixed room. People who sleep well take away habits worth protecting; people who sleep badly take away something to change.

What a workplace sleep session involves

A specialist facilitator joins your workplace, or your team live online. The signature workshop runs for about an hour, and works as a lunch-and-learn, a wellbeing-day session, or one part of a wider program.

Participants look honestly at their own sleep habits, learn what actually drives sleep quality, and work through changes they can start the same night. The facilitator takes live questions about real routines and uses short practical exercises, rather than presenting at the room for an hour.

Choose the format that fits your team

Group workshop or webinar: HSG’s signature sleep session, covering sleep science, sleep-supportive routines and fatigue awareness for a broad employee audience.

Tailored multi-session program: A short series that reinforces sleep knowledge, fatigue awareness and recovery habits over time, rather than relying on one sitting.

Individual Sleep Health Assessments: Confidential one-to-one sessions where employees talk through their own sleep concerns with a sleep specialist and identify practical next steps. Available through Workplace Health Assessments.

Content can be shaped around roster realities for operational teams, screen and wind-down habits for desk-based staff, or recovery strategies that sit alongside a resilience program. Where agreed at booking, an online recording may be available for people who cannot attend live.

Delivery across Australia

HSG delivers onsite in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and regional Australia. Live online sessions suit hybrid and multi-site teams, and are available throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific. What your team can expect

Start with a single workshop to gauge turnout and fit, or build a short series if you want the message to stick.

Direct outcomes HSG can report

  • Attendance and participation rates
  • Participant feedback and satisfaction scores
  • Reported confidence, relevance and usefulness
  • Repeat bookings and interest in follow-up support

Outcomes the program is designed to support

  • A better working understanding of sleep, and steadier everyday routines
  • More sustainable daytime energy, focus and decision quality
  • Earlier recognition of fatigue where alertness matters
  • Stronger recovery habits under sustained pressure

Sleep education is not clinical treatment, and it cannot guarantee movement in absenteeism or productivity figures. Outcomes depend on participation, reinforcement over time, and the workplace practices around them.

Help your team get a better night’s sleep

Poor sleep is one of the few workplace problems that almost everyone is quietly managing on their own. A single session gives your team practical, specific things to try, and gives you a wellbeing initiative people actually turn up to.

Workplace sleep programs: your questions answered

The program is built for whole teams and open-enrolment groups rather than people seeking clinical treatment. Typical participants are desk-based and hybrid staff, high-pressure teams, shift and on-call workers, and parents and carers of young children. No prior knowledge is needed.

An EAP and a workplace sleep program do different jobs. An EAP offers confidential individual support once someone seeks it out; this program builds sleep knowledge and fatigue awareness across the whole workforce, including the much larger group whose sleep is simply poor. Neither replaces the employer’s responsibility to identify and control work-related fatigue risks arising from work hours, shift design, workload, breaks and the work environment. See Safe Work Australia’s Model Code of Practice: Managing the risk of fatigue at work (September 2025).

HSG reports on attendance, participant feedback, reported confidence and usefulness, and repeat bookings. The program is designed to support sleep knowledge, steadier routines, daytime focus and fatigue awareness. It cannot guarantee movement in absenteeism or productivity figures, and any provider promising that should be treated carefully. Sleep also tends to draw strong voluntary turnout, which makes it a straightforward session to justify internally.

No, and it is worth being clear about that. Sleeping Soundly and Countering Fatigue builds individual sleep knowledge and fatigue awareness. It does not replace roster design, workload controls, fatigue risk assessment, or the sector-specific fatigue management systems required in industries such as transport and mining. Those are organisational controls; this program complements them rather than substituting for them.

Either. Many organisations start with a single workshop as part of a wellbeing day or calendar month, then add a short series or one-to-one assessments once they have seen the turnout.

Sleep tends to draw an unusually high natural turnout, because almost everyone has a personal stake in it. Beyond that, it comes down to session design. HSG frames the session around your team’s routines and working patterns, and facilitators use live questions and short practical exercises rather than a lecture with slides.
